Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate hosts its annual "The Great Egg Hunt." Over 2,000 children and parents attend this fun filled day. The Estate is always filled with families and friends from ages 2 to 80. The multi-generational groups enjoy participating and watching as the children hunt for eggs and candy; and then return to other Estate fun activities. Families eat lots of hot dogs while being entertained by the Dancing Bunnies, and the children Prescott Clowns juggling while stilt- walking. There probably will be a petting zoo, an Adopt a Pet Area, crafts, egg-dying, face painting, lots of crafts and a very special visit from the Easter Bunny. The 25th Annual Union Street Spring Celebration and Easter Parade celebrates and showcases the diverse community of San Francisco and features some of Union Street’s best restaurants serving attendees in an outdoor bistro setting. A variety of children’s and family activities are the focus of the event and includes large inflatable bounces, kids’ rides and games, a climbing wall, a bubble jump, the Easter Bunny, fun costumed characters, face painting, a petting zoo, a pony ride and musical entertainment!
For the past 20 years the event has been known as the Biggest Little Parade in San Francisco and reflects the unique community of the Bay Area. The event is not your average Street Fair or formal Parade. It can best be described as wonderful, wacky, elegant and fabulous, with everything from roller-blading cows and creative self-propelled mini-floats to garden areas, sophisticated fashions and beautiful classic and art cars. Preschool and elementary school children (8 years of old and younger) are invited to participate in our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Orange Memorial Park Picnic Shelter. Children can search for eggs as well as visiting with the Easter Bunny, so parents don’t forget your camera. The hunt takes place rain or shine at the Orange Park Picnic Shelter. There will be two hunts occurring at the same time for children ages 5 years and under and children ages 6 - 8 years. Children should bring a basket to collect their eggs. Participation is free!
